Pediatric Radiology

Pediatric Radiology

Faculty:

The pediatric radiologists specialize in children's diagnostic and interventional radiological studies from all modalities. They regularly consult with other subspecialists to assure their small patients get the benefit of both the special problems associated with children and the subspecialist for their problem (orthopedic, neurological, internal medicine, etc). The pediatric radiologists are building an electronic teaching file of cases for education of residents and medical students.

Access to the Pediatric Teaching File is available on the intranet for residents. This case file contains more than 1,300 cases and each includes the salient teaching points of the images. The resident on rotation receives daily hands-on instruction in fluoroscopy, ultrasound examinations, CT studies and MR examinations of the body. Ultrasound examination of the newborn brain and spinal cord are included. In addition, every Friday afternoon, a series of Pediatric unknown cases from the teaching file are displayed and reviewed with the residents, immediately following Noon Conference.
